This Thanksgiving weekend we did things a bit differant than we have in the past. Chris had to work on Friday, and so Inara and I chose to stay home and not go shopping, which is a large departure from tradition for me, as I almost always go out for Black Friday in some form or another. We also chose to carry out our Tradition of going to Dickens On Main in Boerne
, but with a little twist as well. In years past we have enjoyed going up in the evening on Black Friday and spending time with our good family friends the Palmers, Rices, and Prebbles. This year we decided to go on Saturday and invite our entire Sunday School with us.
We had a really good time hanging out with the people that came to join us in Boerne. We poked around all the little shops, had a really good lunch, and in general soaked up the charm that is Boerne at Christmas time.
Inara finally conked out shortly after lunch, and we decided it was time to head home.
On the way home though, Chris thought it would be fun to go to the zoo instead. So we made a quick stop by home to pick up our zoo paraphernalia, and then continued on to the zoo.
Unfortunately, by the time we got there, Inara had decided she had had enough of being strapped into anything after spending the morning confined to her stroller and then being in her car seat in the car. So instead, we spend about an hour hanging out by the birds and letting Inara just wander around.
All in all, it was a good weekend.
